Veterinary Laser Therapy (cold laser)

WHAT IS VETERINARY LASER THERAPY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

For years humans have used  lasers to treat arthritis, scar tissue, muscle trauma, and a variety of other conditions. Now, your pets have the same benefit, and the results are incredible. Unlike laser surgery which cuts into the skin, laser therapy merely adds heat to areas of the body to promote circulation. Your pet can avoid invasive surgery while undergoing a much less stressful procedure.

In basic terms, we use an intense beam of light directed into your pet’s tissues. This laser beam reduces pain, increases blood flow, decreases inflammation, and promotes healing. These lasers are so strong they get deep into troubling joints. Hips, shoulders, and spine are all treatable.

This is completely non-invasive. They may feel a warm sensation which makes therapy comforting rather than scary. Treatment sessions tend to be relatively short which is another added benefit for your pet.

The advantages of this form of therapy are immediately apparent as it boosts the circulation which leads to faster healing from injuries and pain relief from muscle strains, joint problems, arthritis, and other conditions. 

When To Use Laser Therapy:

After the patient evaluation, the laser can be used to treat the following conditions;

• Injuries: muscles, ligaments, tendons including sprains, strains, and soft tissue

• Post surgery

• Degenerative disease in joints and discs including arthritis and hip dysplasia

• Open wounds like ulcerations or even hot spots

• Infections in the ears, anal glands, or gums

• Pododermatitis

• Chronic urinary tract infections
